Veidekke Builds a New Highway Section on the E6 in Østfold

Østfold Public Roads Administration has awarded Veidekke ASA the contract for the construction of a new four-lane section on the E6 highway from Moss to the border of Akershus. The contract price is approximately NOK 145 million excluding VAT.

Approximately 60,000 tonnes of asphalt will be laid on the new highway section. In addition, approximately 4,800 meters of game fencing will be erected, and in order to protect the surrounding buildings from traffic noise, more than 390 meters of noise baffles will be built.

"Veidekke was chosen because they gave the lowest estimate and as a whole the most financially favourable bid," wrote the Østfold Public Roads Administration in their acceptance letter.


The planning of the work is well under way, but the construction work will not start until next year. The construction will be completed in October 2003. Veidekke's plans include a workforce of 50 on this contract.
