OBOS Forretningsbygg AS and Block Berge Bygg AS have signed a contract to build Tasta Senter in Stavanger. The project has a total value of NOK 320 million excluding VAT. The project is a turnkey contract and architect is Link Signatur AS in Sandnes.

The district centre at Tasta in Stavanger municipality will total approximately 41,000 m² over five floors in addition to two subterranean floors.  It will contain a shopping centre, a gym and medical centre, offices and a parking facility. Interest in the centre has been very positive and several tenants are already signed.

The project will feature "green" and energy elements in the form of bearing concrete facades and will be delivered as an energy-efficient building in energy class B. The concrete elements will be manufactured at Block Berge Bygg AS's element factory at Klepp and will be provided with a white marble concrete surface.

Building is expected to commence in October 2010, with completion scheduled for autumn 2012.

OBOS Forretningsbygg AS and Block Berge Bygg AS have developed the project in cooperation with Link Signatur. The method of cooperation has contributed towards cost-efficiency and space efficiency and towards a good margin of compliance with current requirements towards energy-efficiency. Much emphasis has also been placed on ensuring that the project is attractive to the community's inhabitants and the building's users.
