Veidekke Contract for Development of Railway Station in Uppsala, Sweden

Veidekke Anläggning Öst has been commissioned by Banverket Östra Banregionen (the Swedish Rail Administration, Eastern Region) to carry out part of the development of the railway station in Uppsala. The contract price amounts to SEK 141 million, VAT excluded.


The station is situated to the south of the existing railway station, and will be Uppsala's new travel centre.


Veidekke's contract includes construction of three new railway bridges over Strandbod Street. It also includes concreting, excavation and piling work in order to widen and lower the level of the street. In addition, construction of supporting walls and access from the platforms and from the street are part of the contract.


Veidekke is the main contractor and the contract price is SEK 141 million. Construction starts in August 2007 and the project will be handed over in December 2011.
