Veidekke contract for double track line between Lysaker and Sandvika

Veidekke Entreprenør AS has signed a contract with the National Rail Administration for the Skallum substructure, which is part of the development of the new double track railway line between Skøyen and Asker. The contract price is NOK 365 million excl. VAT.
 
The contract involves tunnelling from an access tunnel at Skallum in Bærum. Veidekke will establish the approximately 420 metre-long access tunnel down to the main tunnel for the double track line. It will drive approximately 800 metres of tunnel in the direction of Lysaker and 800 metres in the direction of Sandvika. Both tunnels will be driven to connect up with neighbouring contracts.


The work includes rock blasting, securing and other structural work inside the tunnel. At the most about 70 of Veidekke own workforce will be involved in the project.


The work will commence on 11 April and be completed by 1 August 2010.
