"Our concept is primarily based on self-developed technology and the advanced use of concrete elements. It is therefore very gratifying to win a tender competition such as this," says Managing Director of Block Berge Bygg AS, Mr. Eyvin M. Olsen.

"Once again we can see how a higher degree of industrialisation leads to increased competitive strength, and how both direct building costs and effective construction time play a central role here," Mr. Olsen adds.

The new six-floor building, situated in Lagårdsveien in Stavanger, will have a total floor area of 19,000 sq.m. There will be a staff canteen on the top floor and parking facilities in the basement. Architects are Brandsberg-Dahls Arkitektkontor AS.

The office building will house the approximately 450 employees of the Rogaland County Tax Administration, the Sandnes, Stavanger and Sola tax offices, the Rogaland Tax Collector's Office and the Central Office for Foreign Tax Affairs.

This turn-key contract is worth approximately NOK 170 million excluding VAT. Construction is scheduled to start at the beginning of 2006 and the estimated construction period is 18 months.
