Veidekke to build 107 student homes in Stockholm
Veidekke's Swedish building construction operation has been awarded the contract by Robutz Krediten 2 AB to build 107 student homes with accommodation for 192 students in Stockholm. The project is a design and build contract with a total value of SEK 127 million.
The contract involves erecting a 9-storey building with a gross area of 6,540 square metres. Construction will start in January 2018, and the student homes are expected to be ready for occupation in the summer of 2019.
The project has been planned using VDC, Virtual Design Construction, which is a method applied to rationalize processes relating to design, construction and operation. The VDC work is subsequently used in production, with digital drawing management, among other things. VDC is a part of Veidekke's involving work methods to rationalize the workflow.
"This is Veidekke's second student home project with the same project organization. We have carried out a proper transfer of experience to create the best possible assumptions and retained the combined knowledge," says Arne Svensson of Veidekke.
The apartments will accommodate up to 3 students with their own private, lockable rooms and a common kitchen and living room. The building exterior will have a modern design and white façade.
"After several years of planning we're looking forward to producing Hägerstensåsens first student homes in cooperation with Veidekke. We will offer student housing with practical floor plans, close to public transport and with a magnificent view of Stockholm," says Gustav Preutz, property manager with Robutz Fastigheter.
Robutz Krediten 2 AB is a wholly-owned subsidiary of Robutz Fastigheter AB. The group has been active for two generations as both owner and manager of properties in Stockholm.
The contract is included in Veidekke's order backlog for the fourth quarter of 2017.
