Veidekke to build classified road 13 Vatne - Skreppeneset

Veidekke Entreprenør AS has signed a contract with the Norwegian Public Roads Administration to build a new tunnel for classified road 13 from Vatne to Skreppeneset in Strand municipality in Rogaland county. The value of the contract is NOK 268 million excluding VAT.

 

The contract comprises a 3.5 kilometre two-lane tunnel and two open stretches with a total of approx. 1.6 kilometres open road. Concrete portals will be built at both ends of the tunnel, and the contract includes all work in the tunnel, open stretches, pedestrian areas and bicycle paths.

The tunnel replaces the current classified road 13 through a landslide-prone area.

The contract is a turnkey contract. Work starts in February 2011, and is to be completed in November 2013.
