Veidekke Entreprenør AS has signed a contract with Urbanium AS to build 182 new homes at Ensjø in Oslo. The contract has a value of NOK 215 million excluding VAT and is a turnkey project.

"We are proud to have been chosen as a partner to develop and build this major and important residential project in Gladengveien at Ensjø," says Hans Olav Sørlie, District Manager of Veidekke in Oslo. "Together with Urbanium and Lillestrøm Arkitektkontor, we have developed a good, rational residential project at a price level the city needs. At Gla'enga, we will be able to make use of all the experience of residential building that Veidekke has built up over the course of many large projects in recent years," Sørlie concludes.

The Gla'enga residential project is a vital step in realising the new town at Ensjø. The client, the architects and the contractor have all worked closely together to keep prices at a low level without reducing quality.

"You can buy a new, two-bedroom, freehold apartment here with tiled bathroom and oak parquet floors, in central Oslo, for less than one and a half million kroner. 80% mortgages are also available. And there is clearly a good market for inexpensive new family apartments. We have already sold 40 homes since the project was launched at the beginning of March and we are releasing new phases for sale all the time," explains Urbanium's General Manager Silje Strøm.

Building work will begin as soon as sufficient homes have been presold.
