Veidekke to Build Housing and Treatment Centre

Veidekke Entreprenør AS has signed a contract with the municipality of Nøtterøy to build the Bjønnesåsen Bo- og Behandlingssenter (a housing and treatment centre) in Nøtterøy. The contract price is NOK 33.5 million excluding VAT.
The contract includes new construction as well as rebuilding of existing buildings. The centre will have a total of 24 housing units for people suffering from senile dementia. In addition to this there will be a day treatment centre in the basement of the building. An annex will be rebuilt to make room for 10 studios.


The existing building has two floors, the ground floor and a basement below two thirds of the building. The floor area of the main building is approximately 1,920 m2, which is to be expanded by approximately 640 m2. The annex, which is to be rebuilt, has a floor area of
700 m2.


Construction work will start on 5 January 2004 and will be finished by 26 November 2004.
