Veidekke to Build Indoor Bathing Facility and Water Park in Asker

The local authorities of Asker have awarded Veidekke Entreprenør AS a contract for the construction of a new public bathing facility and water park at Risenga in Asker. The contract price is NOK 135.5 million excluding VAT.
Veidekke won the turnkey contract in a tender competition. The contract includes demolition of existing premises (the Bondi Hall) and construction of a new bathing facility. Total gross floor area is 7,000 m2 over three levels (basement, ground floor and a grandstand/mezzanine).


The facades of the building will have brick claddings and be glass claddings in the gables.


The new facilities will have a number of different swimming pools (a diving pool, a children's pool and a therapy bath), two different water slides (a family slide and a speed slide) and a climbing wall.


The new bathing facility will be connected to the Asker hall for exploitation of surplus heating through a district heating net.


The architect for the building is Tore Svingen of BFS Arkitekter AS.
Construction starts in June and the facilities are scheduled for completion by 8 June 2006.
