The project includes a new school and day-care centre at Åros in the municipality of Røyken. The school is a two-parallel primary school, which may be expanded into a three-parallel secondary school. A separate building houses the day-care centre, which has four departments.

The gross floor area of the school wing will be 5,000 m2 divided between two floors. The day-care centre totals 760 m2.

The basement of the buildings is to be constructed of concrete poured on site. Other load carrying structures will be steel and cavity walls. The outside walls will be faced with brick and wood panelling.

The contract is a turn-key project at a price of NOK 69 million excluding VAT. The construction work started in July 2003 and the construction period is scheduled for 13 months.
