Veidekke Entreprenør AS has entered into a contract with Outlet Invest AS to build Norwegian Outlet in Vestby, south of Oslo. This will be a factory outlet consisting of approx. 40 stores/dealerships. Total turnover for Veidekke will amount to approximately NOK 130 million excluding VAT.

It is Veidekke Entreprenør AS, Distrikt Follo/Indre Østfold and Distrikt Anlegg Øst who will collaborate on building Norwegian Outlet, just next to the large water tower that is a landmark in Vestby. Work will commence in April, and will be completed and ready to open before the 2010 summer holidays.

The buildings' foundations will be rock and blasted rock. Basements and stairwells will be concrete elements, while the supporting system on the main floor will be steel columns and laced struts. The walls will be sandwich elements, and the roof will be a traditional steel sheet roof. The basement will contain an open parking lot with 170 spaces, and an additional 700 parking spaces are planned outdoors. A new roundabout will also be built in connection with the centre.

A factory outlet is a store which the brand owner owns and operates and where goods are sold at discounted prices. There will be no indoor walkways as in typical shopping centres; access to each store will be from outdoors. The concept at Vestby will provide shoppers with a new and different experience, where they will primarily find well-known sporting goods and fashion brands.
