Veidekke to build Sky - Langangen segment of E-18

Today, together with Hæhre Entreprenør AS, Veidekke Entreprenør AS signed a contract with the Norwegian Public Roads Administration to build a new motorway between Sky and Langangen, on the border between Vestfold and Telemark counties. The contract sum is nearly NOK 1.1 billion exclusive of VAT and is broken down 60/40 between Veidekke and Hæhre.


An 11-kilometre motorway for speeds up to 100 km/h with four lanes and a total width of 23 metres will be built. The contract also includes construction of four tunnels (the longest 380 metres), two "environmental tunnels" and eight bridges (the longest 305 metres).


The joint effort between Veidekke and Hæhre is organised whereby Hæhre will be in charge of earth moving and roadbed preparation, while Veidekke will carry out all remaining work, including concrete and structural work. Of the contract sum, Veidekke's 60 % share amounts to approx. MNOK 645 ex VAT.


Work will begin immediately and is slated for completion in May 2012.
