Veidekke to Build Union Wharf in Drammen

Veidekke Entreprenør AS has signed a contract with Union Eiendomsutvikling (property developers) to build Union Brygge (wharf) at Grønland in Drammen. This is a turnkey contract at a price of NOK 200 million excluding VAT.
The project will be part of Quarter 4 of Union Brygge at Grønland, which is a completely new area in Drammen. This quarter is on the banks of the Drammen River, close to the centrally situated market place at Union Brygge. The project covers a total of approximately 20,000 m2 and includes:


  • Dwellings consisting of 150 flats, mainly three-room flats.
  • Business area on a raised ground floor
  • Underground parking area. The lowest parking level will be half a floor below street level.


The buildings have been designed as a block of houses with a courtyard opening to the river. The courtyard consists of two levels, the lower of which is half a level above street level.


The work will be carried out in a joint venture between Veidekke's departments in Buskerud and Vestfold. The work starts in January/February and will be completed in the course of June 2006.
