Veidekke to build wind farms for Eolus Vind

Eolus Vind AB has awarded Veidekke the contract to build two wind farms outside Sundsvall in Sweden. This is a design and build contract valued at SEK 325 million.

The work includes new construction of roads, crane plans, a complete electricity grid and 61 concrete foundations for the wind turbines. Work on the project will start immediately and is scheduled for completion in the spring of 2019.

"We recognize Veidekke as a company with extensive experience in building wind farms in difficult terrain with fast and efficient solutions, while also having good knowledge on which type of product Eolus is aiming for," says Thomas Andersson, construction manager with Eolus.

The project will involve collaboration between Veidekke's Anläggning Nord, Öst and Veidekke Grundläggning. Veidekke Grundläggning are specialists on anchoring concrete foundations in rock.
