K2 Stavanger has awarded Veidekke Entreprenør the contract to build a combined workshop and warehouse building at Mongstad outside Bergen. Oil service company KCA Deutag will lease the building. The value of the contract is NOK 107 million excluding VAT.

The building will total 10,000 m² in size, and one half will be storage while the remainder will be used as a workshop and goods reception. The building will have a steel load-bearing structure and a steel sandwich element façade.

"We are both proud and pleased with the confidence K2 Stavanger has shown in Veidekke by awarding us this contract. This contract shows that a willingness to invest still exists in parts of the oil service industry, and that major companies will remain active on the Norwegian continental shelf for a long time to come," says District Manager Aage Tengs of Veidekke Entreprenør Rogaland.

In order to complete the building by June 2019, work on preparing the site will start in January, while actual construction will start in April.
