Veidekke Entreprenør AS has signed a contract with Statsbygg to develop new secure storage facility and new digital archive storage space, infrastructure and the necessary preparations for a new cavern development. This is a turnkey contract valued at NOK 400 million, excluding VAT.

The archive storage space will be scaled for 65,000 metres of shelves, including 12,000 metres of health archives that will be preserved in their original format after digitization. The archive storage space will, in common with the secure storage, consist of a rock cavern warehouse equipped with automated storage solutions. The solution will have a high storage density and good logistics. Additionally, Veidekke will blast a new rock cavern for yet another future development (number three).

"This is an important contract for Veidekke. Here several of our units will be cooperating closely, and this is something we have extensive experience with from the construction of other complex cavern facilities. This project exploits our combined expertise in tunnels and construction, so now we're looking forward to starting work," says project manager Stein Håvard Bjøru of Veidekke Entreprenør.
