A total of just over one thousand dwellings can be built in the Beckomberga area in west Stockholm. Locum is selling parts of the area to three companies: Besqab, Veidekke and NCC.
Besqab Projekt och Fastigheter AB, Veidekke Bostad & Fastighet AB and NCC AB are paying equal shares of an initial price of SEK 37.5 million for the opportunity to develop altogether 100,000 m2 of land for residential purposes. This means just over 1,000 dwellings. Administration buildings with a total floor area of about 30,000 m2 are also included in the purchase.

Providing that the detailed planning, which will take part in stages, ends up with 1,000 dwellings, the final purchase price will be SEK 465 million, divided equally between the three companies.

"The sale makes it possible for Locum and the health services to create a local treatment centre, Bromma Hospital, in the centre of the Beckomberga area. Moreover, Locum is contributing once again to a considerable increase in housing in Stockholm," says Mr. Ingemar Ziegler, Managing Director of Locum AB.

"We are very pleased to be one of the players who is going to build in the Beckomberga area. We are looking forward to taking part in such a long-term project with a large development potential," says Managing Director Håkan Bergquist of Veidekke Bostad & Fastighet AB.

"As far as Besqab is concerned, the takeover of the Beckomberga area is very positive and in the long term will consolidate our position as providers of housing to the Stockholm market. This gives us the possibility of supplying the region with new housing on a larger scale, something which is much needed," says Mr. Mårten Hansen, Managing Director of Besqab Projekt och Fastigheter AB.

"Beckomberga is one of the most interesting development areas on the outskirts of Stockholm. This gives us the chance to take part in the development of this urban area," says Gunnar Jonson, head of NCC Boende Sverige.
