Through Locum AB, Veidekke Stockholm AB has been awarded a contract for the BUP Kliniken Stockholm project, a child and youth psychiatric unit at the Söder Hospital in Stockholm. The client is the Stockholm city council. The construction work will be paid for according to documented costs measured against an agreed target price of SEK 84 million, excluding VAT.
The contract involves the reconstruction of the old Sachsska Children's Hospital. Here, the Stockholm city council plans to assemble all its activities related to child and youth psychiatry.

Two of the buildings at the Söder Hospital were built in the period 1907 to 1947 by siblings Josef  Sachs and Alice Thiel. The buildings were financed by a donation from Simon and Mathilda Sachs. The architect was Ivar Tengbom, assisted by his son, Anders Tengbom.

The project includes the reconstruction of four buildings and the development of the surrounding land, in all 8,700 m2.

The building project will be carried out as a turn-key project. The work will be paid for according to documented costs measured against an agreed target price and built-in incentives. The target price is SEK 84 million, excluding VAT.

Construction start is scheduled for autumn 2003. Occupancy is scheduled for April/May 2005.
