Veidekke wins contract for Hardanger bridge

The Norwegian Public Roads Administration Region West has awarded Veidekke Entreprenør AS the Construction Project BRU 01 Concrete Work contract in connection with the construction of Hardanger bridge. The amount of the contract is approximately
NOK 331 million, excluding VAT.
 
The project includes building two 200-metre high bridge towers, viaducts between tower and approach tunnels, tunnel portals, plus concrete work in anchorage and splay chambers for the stress cables on both sides of the Hardanger fjord.


The work will commence during the summer of 2009 and is scheduled for completion in April 2013. The contract will provide work for approximately 40 of Veidekke's own skilled workers in addition to administration and subcontractors.
