Milford, Mass. [October 29, 2012] The Milford, Mass., glass packaging facility of Verallia North America, one of the leading glass container manufacturers for the food and beverage industries in the United States with 13 facilities, was honored last week with an Official Citation from the State Senate of the Commonwealth of Massachusetts. The Citation was presented by Massachusetts State Senator Richard T. Moore in recognition of the Milford facility’s receipt of the ENERGY STAR® plant certification from the U.S. Environmental Protection Agency for superior energy performance. Joining Senator Moore in the presentation was Massachusetts State Representative John Fernandes and Congressman Richard Neal, both of whom also spoke during the ENERGY STAR plant certification presentation ceremony.

The citation, signed by Senator Moore, as well as Therese Murray, President of the Senate, and William F. Welch, Senate Clerk, was presented to Joseph R. Grewe, President and CEO of Verallia North America, and Michael Evans, Plant Manager of the Milford facility, during the ENERGY STAR presentation ceremony on Oct. 18, 2012. Senator Moore indicated that an Official Citation from the Senate was a very special and important recognition by Massachusetts of the strong efforts the plant has made with respect to energy conservation and the very important role it plays in the economy of Milford.

“Verallia North America has made significant investments in our Milford plant to improve energy efficiency, and we are very pleased to be recognized by both the EPA and the Commonwealth of Massachusetts as a good corporate citizen,” said Grewe.
