The firm and unconditional order for 15 V126-3.45 MW was placed by long-term customer Tilt Renewables for the Salt Creek wind park in Woorndoo, Victoria. The turbines will be delivered in Power Optimised Mode of 3.6 MW to maximise energy output.

The order includes a 25-year Active Output Management 4000 (AOM4000) service agreement in which Vestas guarantees a defined high level of availability and performance for the project’s entire lifetime. It also includes the SCADA VestasOnline® Business system for data-driven monitoring and preventive maintenance.

We value the long standing relationship that we have enjoyed with Vestas and are very pleased for Vestas to be EPC contractor and long term O&M provider for the Salt Creek project which is Tilt Renewables’ first wind farm investment since the demerger from Trustpower”, said Robert Farron. CEO Tilt Renewables.

Tilt Renewables is a long-term customer and to sign this EPC contract together with a 25-year service agreement shows the trust Tilt Renewables has in the solutions we are offering to the growing Australian market. Vestas has now signed more than 500 MW of orders in Australia since late 2016, which together with the recent announcement of our new 4 MW turbines position us well to continue delivering highly successful wind energy projects for our customers”, said Clive Turton, President of Vestas Asia Pacific.

Turbine delivery is expected in the first quarter of 2018, with commissioning in the third quarter of the same year.

The construction of the Salt Creek wind park is expected to take 12 months and will create more than 100 jobs.
