Nordic Entertainment Group (NENT Group) has been recognised as a ‘Best Practice Leader’ in the latest Gender Equality Index Report by European Women on Boards (EWOB). The report ranks NENT Group in the top 10% of European companies for gender equality in corporate leadership. Today, NENT Group’s Board of Directors, chaired by Pernille Erenbjerg, has a 50-50 gender split, and the company’s Group Executive Management team is 55% female.

EWOB’s Gender Equality Index Report surveys female participation in corporate decision-making and executive bodies, including all European STOXX 600 companies. NENT Group is ranked 62nd of all companies included, and 9th of the 62 Swedish companies assessed.

The report is conducted with the financial support of the European Commission’s Rights, Equality and Citizenship program, together with Kantar Public. EWOB is a pan-European network supported by the European Commission.

Hedwige Nuyens, Chair European Women on Boards: “NENT Group is amongst the best performing companies in Europe, having reached gender equality at the highest decision level. I would like to address a special congratulation to Pernille Erenbjerg, one of the very few female chairs at the helm of a European company, with a perfect 50/50 representation of women and men in the Supervisory Board. You are a role model, and I hope many more will follow.”

Anders Jensen, NENT Group President and CEO: “Equality requires leadership – from all of us as individuals, and from the companies where we work. We’re happy to receive European recognition for the way we do things, while staying mindful of how much more is needed. We look forward to helping lead this very important change over the coming years.”

Mahamud Osman, NENT Group Head of Diversity & Inclusion: “We’re proud to be acknowledged as a leader in gender equality. Seeing our efforts recognised by EWOB is very exciting, and further proof that we’re on the right track towards becoming one of the world’s most equal, diverse and inclusive entertainment companies.”

NENT Group was recently named a leading sustainability performer by Sustainalytics, and included in the S&P Dow Jones Sustainability Indices for the world and Europe.
