  • Previous season of original Danish crime drama sold to BBC and ARTE
  • NENT Group to premiere at least 20 original productions every year

Nordic Entertainment Group (NENT Group), the Nordic region’s leading streaming company, has commissioned a new season of its hit original Danish crime drama series ‘Those Who Kill’. The previous season is one of the most viewed original series on NENT Group’s Viaplay streaming service in 2019 and has been sold internationally to the BBC and European TV network ARTE. The new season of ‘Those Who Kill’ will be produced by Miso Film and premiere exclusively on Viaplay across the Nordic region in early 2021.

Psychological profiler Louise Bergstein (Natalie Madueño: ‘Follow the Money’; ‘The Rain’) is contacted by Alice, a terminally ill family friend desperate to find the murderer of her 18-year-old son, one of three young men killed in Denmark in recent months. Louise soon uncovers a pattern in the horrifying events, but not her personal connection to the killer, who is more intelligent and manipulative than she could ever have imagined.

The new season of ‘Those Who Kill’ (Danish title: ‘Den som Dræber’) is written by Ina Bruhn (‘Occupied’) with Per Daumiller, Tine Krull Petersen and Bo Hr. Hansen, and directed by Jonas Alexander Arnby. The production is supported by the FilmFyn regional film fund and filming will start in early 2020 in Odense. The eight episode series will be distributed internationally by Fremantle.

Filippa Wallestam, NENT Group Chief Content Officer: “It’s almost impossible to look away when watching ‘Those Who Kill’ – even if you sometimes want to. This unsettling but thrilling series has raised the bar for Nordic crime drama with production values, scripting and performances of the highest class. It has topped the Viaplay charts and been sold to major international broadcasters. I can’t wait to see the next chapter of this compelling series, which plumbs the darkest depths of the human psyche while taking the genre to a whole new level.”
