Avonova Hälsa AB signs a three-year license agreement with VibroSense Dynamics for initially 24 instruments
Avonova has decided to set up a nationwide organization in Sweden for health control of workers exposed for hand-arm vibrations. To perform these health controls, Avonova has signed a license agreement for 24 VibroSense Meter II, with option of additional instruments. The license agreement initially covers 36 months with the possibility of renewal. The agreement will have a positive impact on VibroSense Dynamics' results for current fiscal year.
Avonova Hälsa AB intends to create a nationwide organization in Sweden for health control of workers exposed to vibrations. VibroSense Dynamics AB will support Avonova in this work by out rent 24 VibroSense Meter II for three years. Avonova has noticed an increased demand from customers caused by the Swedish Work Environment Authority's increased focus on vibrational injuries. All employers within the EU have an obligation to offer health controls of workers exposed to vibrations. Avonova will have limited exclusivity in the Swedish market until October 2020, within the Hand Arm Vibration segment.
- Thanks to the collaboration with VibroSense and a new Screening method, we get an effective and simple tool to help our clients to detect and follow up measures to prevent a serious work environment problem, says Jörgen Malmenskog, CEO Avonova Hälsa AB.
- We will start delivering VibroSense Meter II to Avonova In the fall of 2019. We dare to say that our instrument is the world's most reliable instrument for detecting early changes in the fingers and hands caused by vibrating tools. Together with our newly developed Screening method, Avonova can thus meet customer demand for an efficient and reliable examination of all the employees working at risk of getting vibration related injuries, says Toni Speidel, CEO of VibroSense Dynamics AB.
About vibration damage
Vibrational injuries caused by vibrating tools are currently the most common occupational injury in Sweden and account for a total of 28% of all registered occupational injuries. The use of hand-held vibrating tools has been at a constant level for 10 years. In Sweden, there are about 400,000 workers who work with hand-held vibrating tools that can cause damage to nerves, blood circulation, joints and muscles.
The most common symptoms of vibration damage are impaired sensation, numbness, white fingers and loss of fine motor ability. The injuries often cause lifelong suffering for the injured person. Affected occupational groups are, for example, those who work in repair shops, in automotive and construction industries and dental care.
