Lübeck University Hospital buys VibroSense Meter II after completing pilot study
The Institute for Occupational and Environmental Medicine at Lübeck University Hospital (LIOH, Lübeck Institute of Occupational Health) has decided to purchase the VibroSense Meter II after completing a pilot study. The conducted study aimed at testing temporary impairments of sensitivity at fingers caused by short-term exposure to vibration. A larger study is now planned with the VibroSense Meter II to investigate whether the instrument can be used as a supervising tool to prevent vibration injuries caused by vibrating tools.
The results of the pilot study will be presented at the German congress "VDI-Fachtagung Humanschwingungen 2020" held on April 28-29 in Würzburg, Germany. The congress brings together Germany's expertise in occupational and environmental medicine and representatives from German industrial corporations.
Vibration injuries are considered a major health and safety problem in Germany, but knowledge of how to avoid and prevent such injuries is still limited. The Institute for Occupational and Environmental Medicine at Lübeck University Hospital (LIOH) is looking for methods for preventive measures, based on scientific information from regular health checks, known as Screening.
- The fact that Lübeck University Hospital is now buying VibroSense Meter II shows that they have confidence in the system and want to investigate whether the instrument can be used to prevent vibration damage rather than diagnose a permanent injury. Germany has several large industrial sectors with many vibration-exposed workers. This is our first step into the German market and I have great confidence that our VibroSense Meter system will prove to be as successful there as in the occupational health care sector in Sweden, says Hans Wallin, CEO VibroSense Dynamics AB.
