TRANSATLANTIC: TRANSATLANTIC ACQUIRES OFFSHORE VESSEL

Rederi AB Transatlantic, through its associated company, Trans Viking, has acquired a further offshore vessel of the AHTS type. The vessel, which has been named Odin Viking, will primarily serve the North Sea oil industry, where Trans Viking's other offshore vessels also operate. Additionally, it will be possible for the vessel to sign long-term charters outside the North Sea.

Odin Viking was constructed in 2003 and, with 15,660 BHP, is well-equipped to meet the demands placed on modern tonnage for the international oil companies.

"In the current market situation in the offshore sector, this expansion of our offshore fleet is highly positive," says Håkan Larsson, CEO of Transatlantic.

Active strategic work is also in progress at Trans Viking and it is probable that this will result in ordering of additional offshore vessels later in the year.
