TRANSATLANTIC: TRANSATLANTIC SECURES LONGER-TERM ASSIGNMENT FOR OFFSHORE VESSEL

Report this content

Rederi AB Transatlantic, through its 50%-owned company TransViking, has entered into an agreement with the Finnish company Finstaship regarding the chartering out of one of its combined anchor-handling/icebreaking vessels for a six-month period, with the option of a two-month extension. The agreement becomes effective in May 2007.

The vessel will be chartered for Arctic offshore operations in the Beaufort Sea, outside Alaska, and will be part of the operations being established there by Shell Offshore Inc.

"This is an important agreement for TransViking," says Stefan Eliasson. "Expanding our market area and signing longer-term agreements for our vessels, which is what we achieve through this agreement, is part of our strategy."
