FNsteel and Nordkalk recently entered into an agreement with Rederi AB TransAtlantic regarding shipments of limestone and iron ore covering a three year period. The contractual volumes amount to 1,6 million tonnes annually. Two specialized, ice classed vessels will transport the agreed volumes in Bay of Bothnia and parts of the Baltic Sea.

“FNsteel and Nordkalk have been our customers for years and we are proud that they choose to further develop the cooperation with us. We are looking forward to expand our sea transports and to develop transport solutions within the bulk area further together with our customers – focusing at the Baltic Sea,” says Percy Österström responsible for the business area Industrial Shipping at TransAtlantic.

The business area Industrial Shipping at TransAtlantic delivers logistics solutions for the customers – at sea and ashore – including terminal handling and intermediate storage. The business area consists of five divisions; Bulk, Container, RoRo, Short Sea Bulk and Integrated Logistics. The customers primarily come from the Nordic base industry. The turnover 2010 amounts to 3 billion SEK. We operate some 50 vessels at our disposal, are locally represented in seven countries and are aiming for continued growth and development in Europe.
