VCW’s platform surpasses compliance levels with additional security testing by WPC

CENTENNIAL, CO—(8/14/13):  Virtual Care Works invited the experts at Washington Publishing Company (WPC) to test the security of the Virtual Care Works platform, and passed with flying colors.  Washington Publishing Company analysts awarded the Virtual Care Works platform their “WPC Security Tested” seal of approval.

Members of the Virtual Care Works “medical grade” communications platform can rest assured the platform exceeds industry security standards.

“We wanted to not only be able to speak to the security of our platform, but to prove it,” said Virtual Care Works founder and CEO Steve Ward.  “We selected Washington Publishing Company to conduct a Meaningful Use Risk Assessment of our system because they are widely recognized as a leading expert in data security, particularly in the health care setting where there are HIPAA compliance issues to consider.”

Washington Publishing Company is the exclusive publisher of critical HIPAA implementation publications and related products and is considered the leading expert in electronic data interchange.

Security testing of this rigor is not required but Virtual Care Works sees the assessment as a strategic investment.  Virtual Care Works engaged Washington Publishing to conduct a vulnerability security scan assessment of the complete Virtual Care Works platform.  The Assessment was completed in January 2013.
