Global Experts Join Visions of Tomorrow
Project Explores Scientific and Psychological Solutions to the World’s Biggest Challenges
Two global leaders are joining the board of advisors for the Visions of Tomorrow™ project – New York Times science writer Andrew Revkin and entertainment industry veteran Jeffrey Brandstetter.
Visions of Tomorrow™ is a 7-part television mini-series and transmedia project with a bold mission: To share scientific solutions to the world’s biggest problems – from climate change, overpopulation and depletion of natural resources to disease, poverty, war and mass extinctions.
“Visions of Tomorrow will help people understand how we can, and will create solutions for these global challenges,” says Visions of Tomorrow Foundation™ founder and executive director Roger Ressmeyer. “Andrew is providing research for the first episode of our TV mini-series, and Jeffrey is offering critical guidance in navigating the entertainment industry,” Ressmeyer added.
Revkin has been writing about environmental sustainability for more than three decades, from the Amazon to the White House to the North Pole, mainly for The New York Times. He has won top awards in science journalism multiple times, along with a Guggenheim Fellowship. As the Senior Fellow for Environmental Understanding at Pace University, he teaches courses in blogging, environmental communication and documentary film. He has written acclaimed books on global warming, the changing Arctic and the assault on the Amazon rain forest.
Drawing on his experience with his Times blog, DotEarth, which Time Magazine named one of the top 25 blogs in 2013, Revkin speaks to audiences around the world about paths to progress on a turbulent planet.
Brandstetter is a veteran entertainment and intellectual property attorney with more than 23 years’ experience in film, TV, music, new media and entertainment financing matters. He is the co-author of The Music Business (Explained in Plain English), and has been published in multiple national publications, including Entertainment & Sports Lawyer and the Entertainment, Publishing & the Arts Handbook. He is a frequent speaker/moderator on entertainment matters and is a panel attorney/lecturer for the National Academy of Television Arts & Sciences (NATAS).
Brandstetter has extensive film and TV credits, including: Straight Outta Hunters Point (Executive Producer); The Texas Chainsaw Massacre; Judgment Day: The Ellie Nesler Story; Make Me Laugh; Smash Lab; Teknolust; Happily, Even After; Confessions of a Burning Man; and Tech Closeup.
