Borrow equipment for free

Fritidsbanken operates like a library for sports equipment, allowing visitors to borrow gear for free for up to 14 days. With 130 locations spread across 121 municipalities, from Trelleborg in the south of Sweden to Kiruna in the north, Fritidsbanken provides easy access to all essential outdoor equipment.

You can borrow a wide range of items, including tents, sleeping mats, camping stoves, life jackets, fishing gear, balls, and rollerblades, making it easy to travel light. However, it is important to note that equipment is available on a first-come, first-served basis, with a few exceptions for adaptive sports equipment, which can be reserved in advance.

A Sustainable Initiative

All equipment at Fritidsbanken is donated by individuals and organisations. This community-based model supports sustainability by extending the lifespan of sports equipment.

Since its creation in 2013, Fritidsbanken has grown rapidly, with more than half a million items available for borrowing nationwide. Last year alone, 1.4 million items were borrowed, reflecting a growing interest in a sustainable lifestyle and economical travel solutions.
