Country Music Star Randy Houser Returns to Tucson for Exclusive Concert in December
To celebrate Tucson's starring role in country music video "Like A Cowboy," a ballad from Randy Houser's chart-topping album How Country Feels, Visit Tucson is bringing the critically acclaimed singer/songwriter back to town for an exclusive, live performance on Sunday, December 14, 2014 at the historic Fox Theatre in downtown Tucson.
Houser spent a week in Tucson last spring shooting the 1880s Western-themed video in multiple locations around southern Arizona. Most of the filming took place at Old Tucson [Studios] where hundreds of classic films have been made, including McLintock!, Rio Bravo and Tombstone.
"When I shot the 'Like A Cowboy' video in Tucson earlier this year, I was just blown away by how beautiful it is and how much the city has to offer," said Houser. "Now I go back there every chance I get, and I'm really looking forward to playing the Fox on December 14 and sharing this place and experience with my fans. It's gonna be fun!"
Fans of Houser will have two options to purchase tickets for this exclusive engagement. Visit Tucson will make tickets available to visitors who book the "Like A Cowboy" hotel package over the concert weekend, available only on visitTucson.org's online reservation system. For each room booked, a voucher for two general admission tickets, courtesy of Visit Tucson, will be released.
Tickets will be made available to the general public for purchase on Friday, October 17 at 10:00 a.m. PST, for $30 on Fox Theatre's website.
Earlier this year Visit Tucson worked closely with Houser's production team during the week long filming of the "Like A Cowboy" video and negotiated product placement, through CMS International, of a "Welcome to Tucson" sign, to give the ballad a sense of place. Last month, Visit Tucson was honored by the Western Association of Convention and Visitors Bureaus (WACVB) with an outstanding achievement award for its recent marketing efforts with Houser on "Like A Cowboy."
