World-Class Lineup For Tucson Fashion Week

Tucson Fashion Week will take place Oct 16 -18, 2014 at various locations around town

Tucson Fashion Week (TFW) will take place Oct 16 -18, 2014. The event brings together creative people from all levels of the fashion industry for three days of outstanding fashionable experiences, showcasing the work of emerging talent, industry experts, icons, artists and more. Creative directors Paula Taylor and Melanie Sutton have created a world class event that Tucson can be very proud of - attracting major industry talents as well as an ever growing list of attendees.

 

This year's special guests include UA Alumni and lead Architect for PUMA, Nate Colkitt;  Senior Vice President of Men's Design for Tommy Bahama, Joey Rodolfo;  former costume designer and Director of the school of Theatre Arts at the UA, Al Tucci;  award-winning stylist and best -selling author David Zyla; and five fashion designers from the Lifetime Reality show Project Runway.

 

General admission tickets for all events are $35 per person. A limited amount of student/standing room tickets are available at $15 per person. Tickets for the Sunday VIP Experience are $50 per person.  The VIP package which includes tickets to the first three events is $285.00 per person. All can be purchased on tucsonfashionweek.com. VIP Packages are on sale now; General Admission and single VIP tickets will be on sale August 5.

 

Thursday, October 16, 2014 ~ 6-9pm

LAUNCH PARTY, DESIGNER COMPETITION & FASHION SHOW @ CONNECT COWORKING & RIALTO BLOCK PARTNERS

TFW kicks off at a new, unique downtown Tucson location.  Special guest industry leader Nate Colkitt will judge an innovative Design Competition inspired by one of Colkitt & Co. architectural building. A ready -to -wear collection of made in Arizona, Lawless Denim will be showcased as well as a fashion installation presented by national vintage/second-hand clothing boutique, Buffalo Exchange.  Hair and makeup by Ricky English and team. Food will be provided by downtown restaurants Proper and Diablo Burger. 

 

Friday, October 17, 2014 ~ 6-10pm

THE GARDEN PARTY @ TUCSON BOTANICAL GARDENS

Hosted by award-winning stylist and author David Zyla, the garden party will include an interactive salon style fashion show highlighting local and national retailers including Loop Jean Company, Posh Boutique and Tommy Bahama.  David Zyla will take the audience on a transformative journey on the power of color, with insights, humor, tips, and inspirations from his book, Color Your Style.

Special guest appearance by industry leader/Icon  Joey Rodolfo, Senior Vice President of Men's Design for Tommy Bahama and UA Alum - highlighting a live retrospective presentation and fashion show of his life's work as a leader in designing resort and golf wear for the past 35 years.  Collections by local and regional designers Laura Tanzer, Christina Cornwell, Jamiaca Cole and Too Strong will also be featured on the garden path runway.   Food will be provided by Blu, A Wine & Cheese Stop, and Prep & Pastry.

 

Saturday, October 18, 2014 6-10pm

PROJECT RUNWAY SHOWCASE & PROJECT ARIZONA @ FOX TUCSON THEATRE

This high-energy evening opens with a spectacular, never before seen, costume capsule collection from Costume Designer and former UA School of Theatre dept chair, Al Tucci, followed by the works of three emerging Project Arizona designers: Estrella Sevilla, Loreto Echevarria, and 2013 Betsey Johnson's Choice winner Meggen Connelly of Magnetic Threads.  A dramatic presentation from TFW Founder Elizabeth Denneau's CandyStrike collection will be staged in the theatre lobby.

The evening concludes with an exhilarating Project Runway Showcase, hosted by Tucson's own Fashionista Camerone Parker  and featuring the works of five special guest Project Runway /Project Runway All-Star designers  Bert Keeter, Korto Momolu, Daniel Esquivel, Mila Hermanowski, and Peach Carr.

Food will be provided by Agustin Kitchen, Acacia Real Food & Cocktails and Penca.

 

Sunday, October 19, 2014 ~ 10am to 1pm

PROJECT RUNWAY SHOP & SIP AT PLAYGROUND

An intimate brunch and trunk show offering the works of Project Runway Designers Korto Momolu, Daniel Esquivel, Mila Hermanovski, Peach Carr and Bert Keeter.  This event is a unique opportunity to socialize with these amazingly creative designers and shop their special collections seen at the TFW runway show the night before. Event includes a special raffle drawing benefitting Youth On Their Own.

Through fashion events, charitable partnerships, unique experiences and iconic collaborations, Tucson Fashion Week is putting Tucson on the national fashion and retail landscape.  TFW is a professional platform for emerging regional, national and international designers to showcase their work locally and nationally to consumers, buyers and industry leaders. House of PM, a collaboration of Paula Taylor Productions and MHS Styling are the Owners/Creative Directors of Tucson Fashion Week. This community-wide annual event incorporates four days of fashionable experiences and events encompassing style, art, celebrity and cuisine. Additionally, each year TFW is committed to donating a percentage of event proceeds to important local nonprofits.  2014 recipients are Youth on their Own, the Tucson Botanical Gardens and the Steven M Gootter Foundation.
