Vizrt, a leading provider of production tools for the digital media industry, announced today that Globosat Programadora Ltda, one of the largest content providers in Brazil, has finished installing the first two of ten Viz Mosart control room automation systems they have acquired for their production center in Rio de Janeiro. Both systems have been tested onair, and will be in production full time before the end of April.

“Migrating their live production workflow to Viz Mosart automation will allow Globosat to improve the quality and consistency of their shows,” said Isaac Hersly, president, Vizrt Americas. “Globosat will also be able to produce far more content, without having to build additional control rooms or add additional staff.”

“We went through a thorough evaluation process, and looked at all the news automation system available”, said Lourenço Carvano, Director of Engineering at Globosat. “Viz Mosart was the system best suited for our needs, and they have outstanding support. But most importantly, Viz Mosart will allow us to add more complex programming over the coming years as we expand our operations.”

Viz Mosart has a flexible interface well suited for producing unscripted programming.

Globosat will initially use Viz Mosart for three shows on their popular SPORTV channel: É GOL! (a scripted sports highlight show), REDAÇÃO (an unscripted multi camera studio discussion program), and then EVENTOS – where Viz Mosart will be used to produce live soccer games, broadcasting to a nationwide audience.

“These are three very different shows,” said Carvano. “But using Viz Mosart for the production of EVENTOS in particular will streamline our operation. We will often cut away from a live football match to show an instant replay of a goal scored in a different game. With a single operator, Viz Mosart can control the live video switching, graphic updates, server cueing, and audio mixing without the errors we sometimes get when multiple operators are trying to synchronize their actions. Our initial onair tests have been highly successful, and our producers are very excited about the move to Viz Mosart.”

The remaining eight Viz Mosart systems will be installed in other control rooms over the next year, as Globosat extends their programming in preparation for the Rio 2016 summer games.
