Bergen, Norway, December 5, 2013, Vizrt Ltd. (Oslo Main List: VIZ).

Vizrt Ltd. announced today a deal worth USD 861,000 for the implementation of broadcast graphics products with Dubai Media Inc. in the United Arab Emirates. The broadcaster has been a Vizrt customer for many years. The new project consists of an HD upgrade, the installation of a much larger and higher resolution video wall, an immersive graphics system, an upgrade to the latest versions of Vizrt software, and the addition of Viz Weather.

Dubai Media Inc. has had in place a full SD graphics system running Viz Engine, Viz Content Pilot, Viz Ticker and Viz Video Wall. In addition to the HD upgrade of all their current systems, Dubai Media Inc. is adding Viz Virtual Studio to enable immersive graphics – augmenting physical objects in the studio with virtual elements to enable much greater flexibility and creativity in storytelling.

Viz Weather was purchased to give Dubai Media Inc. a tool for producing weather reports for the Middle East and other regions around the world. Viz Weather is a template-based solution that allows the integration of live weather data into predefined graphic templates.

“We chose to continue our relationship with Vizrt because they have proven to have the best set of integrated tools,” said Saleh Lootah, Chief Technology Officer, Dubai Media Inc. “Our journalists can create content using the very same tools in the newsroom for publication on-air, on the video wall and in the immersive virtual studio with the exact same workflow. The latest generation of Vizrt’s hardware allows for a much greater resolution on the video wall with fewer machines, which is easier to manage, as well as cheaper to implement and maintain. It also provided us with more scope to expand in the future.” he continued.

Fadi Izzaldin, Head of Creative for Dubai Media Inc, commented “a major benefit for us is that the same design tool, Viz Artist, that we already know how to use, is used to create all of the video wall, weather and immersive graphics, which means that my design team will be working in a comfortable and familiar environment, and production will therefore not face disruption.”

“Vizrt is delighted that Dubai Media Inc. has chosen to expand their existing Vizrt infrastructure.” said Martin Burkhalter, Vizrt CEO. “These new upgrades show that Vizrt continues to be a trusted partner for broadcasters in the Middle East region. We look forward to seeing the great things that Dubai Media Inc. will produce with the systems.”
