PGA TOUR Productions Selects Viz Ardome Media Asset Management Solution

Vizrt, a leading provider of content production tools for the digital media industry, announced today that PGA TOUR Productions is purchasing the Viz Ardome media asset management (MAM) software to manage its HD and SD content.
Viz Ardome is the core software module within the industry-leading Vizrt media asset management product line. The Vizrt media asset management product portfolio provides capabilities for ingest and playout, transcoding, browsing, craft editing, and more.
Dukes noted that among the reasons for selecting Viz Ardome is the current integration to third-party vendors such as Avid and EVS, both critical components at PGA TOUR Productions. Additionally, Viz Ardome's open web service APIs allow the Dixon Sports Logger to be a tightly integrated component within the PGA TOUR MAM system.
Viz Ardome offers the flexibility to provide a MAM system tailored to the PGA TOUR Productions workflow, such as database imports of more than 3 million existing Nesbit and Dixon entries, as well as a secure, efficient method of ingesting valuable video legacy assets.
Another important feature for PGA TOUR Productions is the ability to browse growing files, which allows users to start working with low-resolution proxy versions of the video files while the high resolution material is still being ingested. This enables the user to work with the low resolution and low bandwidth copy from any desktop, browse the material, and edit the low-resolution file. As soon as new media is created using the proxy version, the system will generate a high resolution version.
