Bergen, Norway, September 25, 2014, Vizrt Ltd. (Oslo Main List: VIZ).

Vizrt Ltd. announced today three deals with tv stations in the Middle East, worth a combined total of USD 3.1 million. These orders underline the strong position Vizrt has in the region, which has become a fast growing, very professional and demanding broadcast market over the past decade.

“These three orders represent the trust that broadcaster’s in the region have both in Vizrt’s product offering and our Dubai office,” said Martin Burkhalter, Vizrt’s CEO. “The orders exemplify how Vizrt has established technology and market leadership by offering a complete workflow environment that allows broadcasters to become more efficient, while achieving the highest quality levels in their productions.”

The largest contract, worth USD 2.0 million, was closed with Qvest Media FZ LLC, a leading systems integrator partner in the Middle East. The deal is for a news channel that is expanding its infrastructure to include a new newsroom and several new control rooms with built-in redundancy. Vizrt’s broadcast graphics and MAM (media asset management) workflow are already used by the broadcaster at existing facilities, and the new deal enables them to expand this coverage to new locations. Vizrt will help establishing these new facilities by providing technology for the creation of a complete production environment. Among others, the deal contains multiple new Viz Artist workstations, Viz Engines, the Viz Pilot content and control system, Viz One MAM and Viz World – Vizrt’s real-time 3D mapping system, that will be used in connection with news and weather production. Editors will also have access to graphics and video through the Viz Pilot NLE plugin in their native editing systems.

Additionally, a deal was signed with a news channel, originally based in Europe, that is expanding its operations to the Middle East. The client has selected Vizrt to create a complete end-to-end production workflow, including the provision of the very backbone for their launch. Total order volume from this customer is USD 727,000. In addition to broadcast graphics products, such as Viz Artist and Viz World Classic, the new station will use Viz Pilot as newsroom control system, and Viz Virtual Studio to generate the broadcast studio environment. The news channel will also use Vizrt for channel branding in master control. A combined master control solution made up of Viz Multichannel for multi-channel branding, and Viz Ticker, continually display news, weather, sports and financial content on the screen, as well as promotional content.

A third broadcaster is upgrading its current Vizrt systems with the latest available software and hardware. The contract has been ordered by INV Systems Integrations, Dubai, with an order volume of USD 347,000, and includes upgrades to Viz Engine, Vizrt’s real-time compositing engine, from SD to HD. Viz Engine is the primary rendering platform for all of the broadcaster’s channels. The broadcaster has also purchased additional seats of Viz Trio and is upgrading its Viz World Classic system to the Viz World server edition. This upgrade will allow the journalists in the newsroom to create maps in their newsroom control system (NRCS) without the assistance of designers. Additional data, including satellite imagery and street data is included.
