Vizrt on the Olympic Trail
Bergen, Norway, November 27, 2007. Vizrt Ltd. (Frankfurt Prime Standard, Oslo Main List: VIZ) announces today to have received an order for graphics systems from China Central Television (CCTV). The graphic systems Viz|artist and Viz|trio are to be used by CCTV digital to design and create graphics for the 2008 Olympics.
The graphics that are created with these systems will be used in studios and in the field during the games. CCTV will decide later on how to utilize the Vizrt systems in the studios. The first deal is closed now and will be recognized in Q4.
Earlier this year CCTV decided to give the design-contract to Vizrt's partner, Reality Check from Los Angeles. That means that many graphics shown in CCTV during the Olympics will be based on Vizrt's software.
Vizrt won both the "normal" graphics and virtual enhancement contracts earlier this year. The deals will be recognized over the two first quarters of 2008 and the final numbers are yet not negotiated.
This order follows the earlier successful work with CCTV5 where Vizrt systems were used for the 2006 Soccer World Cup and together with the agreement where Swiss Timing was appointed as the official timing company for the Beijing Olympics (utilizing a large number of Vizrt graphics systems) gives Vizrt a very strong presence in the 2008 Beijing Olympics.
