Vizrt Opens Moscow Office - Nine Customers in the CIS Region

The Russian TV market is one of the fastest growing in the world. There are currently more than eighty channels available nationally through terrestrial and satellite broadcasting, as well as over 170 regional channels, and many of which are not yet digitized. TV advertising spending is undergoing a boom period of growth, currently worth around USD 2bn per year.

The Vizrt customer base in Russia is not only increasing, but Vizrt's established customers are also expanding their requirement for larger and more widely available graphics systems. These include VGTRK - the government owned All-Russian State Television and Radio Company - VGTRK is one of the world's largest public TV networks, reaching more than 96% of the Russian population, with over 90 regional stations across Russia.

In addition, Ren TV is one of Russia biggest private channels. Ren TV is Moscow-based, but has a national audience of 97 million viewers. 30% of the channel equity is owned by the German RTL Group. Having already bought Vizrt graphics equipment last year, Ren TV continued to develop its graphics output and has purchased another system this quarter.

Another major customer is NTV Design - the design arm of the huge NTV organization, the second largest TV network in Russia. Other Vizrt customers in Russia include RTTV, a 24 hour English news channel and TV Center, Moscow's local city TV channel. 1+1 Ukraine, part of the CME group (Central European Media Enterprises), has joined the Vizrt's customer list. The station is one of the leading private TV channels in Ukraine, reaching 95% of the population.
