Vme Premieres Four News Music Specials
Shakira, Miguel Bose and Alejandro Fernandez among the many artists featured
NEW YORK, July 14, 2011 – Vme expands its provocative coverage of the international music scene with four new music specials developed in partnership with Especial 40 Principales. Hosted by pop Star Amaia Montero, the music specials feature intimate conversations, exclusive backstage access, performances, and provide the ultimate backstage pass to some of Latin music’s most beloved artists.
In its inaugural episode on Sunday, July 24 at 9pm (ET), Especial 40 Principales: Bose Por Amaia, provides a special look at Miguel Bose, one of the most beloved, revered and respected artists of all time. Bose discusses more than just his music and his legendary poetic lyrics but his sense of fashion, his love of cooking and his passion for his family. This non-typical special, offers a unique perspective on this beloved artist.
Crossover attempts into Spanish by top-selling English-speaking artists will be featured on Do you Spanglish? airing on Sunday, July 31 at 9pm (ET). This special showcases some of their best (and sometimes most humorous) efforts. Featuring such superstars as Michael Jackson, Bon Jovi, Beyoncé, Mariah Carey, David Bowie, Avril Lavigne, Celine Dion, Justin Timberlake and Madonna! Do You Spanglish? is a fun-filled special of wonderful stars singing some of their greatest hits as you have never heard them before!
Shakira makes a splash on Sunday, August 7th at 9pm (ET). Three years in the making, Especial 40 Principales: Shakira Integral takes an in-depth look at Shakira’s rise from a teen star in Colombia to a global sensation. Through hundreds of interviews with fans, collaborators and other leading artists, Shakira Integral offers a very special look at her career and rise to superstar status. The special will also feature highlights of Shakira’s live performances over the length of her fabulous career.
Starting Sunday, August 14 at 9:00pm (ET) the final two music specials are devoted to possibly the hottest Mexican star of this generation, Alejandro Fernandez. Especial 40 Principales: 24 Horas con Alejandro Fernandez where cameras follow the star through one complete day of his tour – in the hotel, on the bus, relaxing backstage and finally in performance. With special interviews with Fernandez and his crew, Vme shows you what it takes to make it all happen. In Especial 40 Principales: De Gira Por España, also airing Sunday, August 14 at 9:30pm (ET), Vme takes fans behind the scenes with a backstage pass for the making of a live performance.
