Rental e-scooter company, Voi, is advising riders to plan their journeys in London on Sunday 21 April 2024 as there will be changes due to the London Marathon.
E-scooters are a sustainable and convenient way to access the city, helping to reduce traffic and congestion.
However, their use will be temporarily restricted inside the 26.2 mile route of the London Marathon, from 2am until 7pm on 21 April to prepare for the event and the thousands of spectators who are expected to line the streets.
As a result some e-scooter parking areas will also be temporarily unavailable.
Users can find all the details in the Voi app.
James Bolton, General Manager, Voi UK, said: “We are pleased to work with TfL and the London Marathon organisers to help ensure the safe operation of the event for all participants and spectators.
“As a result, there will be changes to our usual operating area and we advise riders to check the app for details so that everyone can enjoy the London Marathon safely.
“Good luck to all the runners taking part!”
Voi closely monitors its operations and irresponsible or unsafe use is enforced with user bans. Incidents of bad riding practices are well managed and just 0.02% of total Voi account holders (UK-wide) have been blocked.
Unsafe riding or inappropriate use of Voi e-scooters can be reported to report.voi.com via the Voi app or website.
