Liverpool 2 May 2023: Shared e-scooter and e-bike company Voi is giving out top tips for their riders in Liverpool while the city hosts Eurovision.
The company provides e-scooters and e-bikes which visitors will be able to use to get around the city while it hosts various Eurovision events.
With the event set to attract an estimated 100,000 extra visitors to Liverpool, helping people get around the city quickly, easily and safely is a top priority.
Voi is working closely with Liverpool City Council and Liverpool City Region Combined Authority to adjust certain aspects of its service during this time, to ensure the safety of riders and the public.
Between 7 and 13 May, temporary changes apply to the riding and parking zones around the city.
Riders should check the in-app map for permitted routes and to locate a parking spot near your destination, before you set off.
Voi is reminding European visitors to ride on the left and have a physical copy of their driver’s licence to scan before using the service, to make sure visitors from other Eurovision countries stay safe riding e-scooter and e-bikes in Liverpool.
The company is making e-scooters available to help Liverpool City Council Eurovision volunteers zip around the city from venue to venue.
New riders wanting to use the service can get 2×30 free riding minutes by simply entering the code EURO23 in the Voi app.
Jack Samler, Voi’s general manager for the UK, Ireland and France, said: “It’s very exciting that Eurovision is coming to Liverpool.
“Our e-scooters and e-bikes are an important part of transport available in Liverpool, providing an affordable, easy-to-use, reliable and sustainable way of getting around the city.
“We are very pleased to be able to support the city while it hosts Eurovision events.”
To ride a Voi e-scooter or e-bike, download the Voi app, upload a copy of your full or provisional driving licence, take a selfie and complete the online safety driving school. Use the app to find the nearest vehicle, scan a QR code to unlock and ride. Voi advises riders to wear helmets.
