Voi promotes safer micromobility in Belgium

Europe’s leading micromobility operator, Voi, is benefitting from the expertise of Vias Institute, a road safety and mobility knowledge centre, to promote safe e-scooter and e-bike riding in Belgium.
To enhance safe riding, Vias supported the development of a ten-question challenge for people to take when completing Voi’s online traffic school, RideSafe Academy.
The quiz is tailored to common situations and challenges faced by riders in Belgium - and is available in Dutch, English and French. It is one of the many actions that can support safe riding.
It is designed to enhance the knowledge and skills of riders. It covers the rules of the road in Belgium and riding scenarios for e-scooters and e-bikes.
Christy Pearson, Voi’s director of market development, said: “Safety is our top priority at Voi, so we are thrilled to have data-driven safety training from the Vias Institute on our RideSafe Academy.
“We hope that riders and potential riders in Belgium will complete the training and quiz and become safer on the roads as a result.”
RideSafe Academy is available to all e-scooter and e-bike riders in Belgium, free of charge. Anyone who completes all four modules of the RideSafe Academy online training core course gets a 30 minute free ride with Voi.
Voi operates e-bikes and e-scooters in Brussels and will start operating e-scooters in Antwerp in the autumn.
The Belgium version of RideSafe Academy can be selected from ridesafe.voi.com
