Volati continues its growth with the acquisition of Byggsystem Direkt
Volati has acquired all shares in Byggsystem Direkt AB, a leading supplier of foundations for houses and apartment buildings under the Isolergrund brand. The acquisition is an add-on acquisition for the S:t Eriks business unit in the Industry business area. Byggsystem Direkt strengthens S:t Eriks’ existing portfolio of niche companies that are leaders in their sector. Byggsystem Direkt reported annual sales of approximately SEK 60 million in 2020.
The acquisition of Byggsystem Direkt is Volati’s fifth acquisition of 2021. Add-on acquisitions to existing business units and business areas are a key part of Volati’s strategy for creating long-term value growth. They are aimed at reinforcing and accelerating the business units’ work in line with adopted strategies and adding further value through synergies.
“S:t Eriks has shown very positive development since Volati’s acquisition in 2018 and is well placed to accelerate its growth strategy through add-on acquisitions. Today’s acquisition is part of this process. In Byggsystem Direkt we are acquiring a well-managed company with good profitability and a strong market position in its niche,” says Nicklas Margård, Head of Business Area Industry.
Byggsystem Direkt has about 20 employees and is headquartered in Laholm. The company is a leading supplier of type-approved foundations for family houses, terraced houses, residential apartments, schools and assisted living housing under the Isolergrund brand. The foundation systems ensure a moisture-free indoor environment. The company has a strong market position through agreements with several of the largest house manufacturers in Sweden and over 100 authorised contractors who install the foundations.
“I am very pleased at the opportunity to acquire Byggsystem Direkt. The acquisition strengthens our offering in a high-growth and profitable niche where we have only had limited activity until now. We see good opportunities to grow the business and increase our market share in this niche going forward,” says Tomaz Lewander, CEO of S:t Eriks AB.
The acquisition is financed through Volati’s existing credit facilities and the company will be consolidated from July 2021. The acquisition is not expected to have any significant impact on Volati’s results for 2021.
