VPN4ALL Keeps Travellers in Touch with Their Finances through Exclusive ‘Anchor IP’ Feature

VPN provider protects travellers from losing access to their money when making online payments abroad

VPN4ALL, a VPN service that provides its subscribers with online security, privacy and anonymity, is highlighting its exclusive “Anchor IP” feature that literally anchors a user’s internet address (IP) when traveling to keep online payment sites, such as PayPal, and credit card companies from mistakenly locking out customers from their own funds.

When travellers use a local IP in a hotel or Internet café, or even a VPN to protect their data, to make an online purchase for a local good or service, such as booking tickets for a show or train or bus, a credit card company or site like PayPal may cut off access to a customer’s funds if it sees a new foreign IP address when the customer logs in because their systems are setup to block logins that are out of the ordinary in an effort to protect the customer against fraud.

However, this could be a major hassle for a traveller when there is in fact no fraudulent attempt and it can take weeks to rectify.

“Credit card companies and sites like PayPal must take precautions against fraud detection, and rightly so,” says Alex Tishler, VP of VPN4ALL, “as identity fraud affected one out of 20 Americans in 2009.”

With VPN4ALL’s “Anchor IP” feature, which comes standard with every account, travellers can choose a specific IP for the term of their subscription that stays with them wherever they go. It makes it look like the user is logging in from home, even if that person is thousands of miles away and on the move, while also providing all the protection of a top-notch VPN.

“This is a unique service among VPN providers,” says Tishler, “and it is a needed benefit for anyone who travels for work or vacation. Imagine the hassle of dealing with your own credit card company over the phone while you’re in a foreign country.”
