I'll Have Anotherovertakes “Bodemeister” in the last stretch to win the Preakness and it seems like the Triple Crown drought might finally come to an end in the Belmont Stakes. Savvy bettors may hit pay dirt on odds as high as 15/1.

FOR IMMEDIATE RELEASE

San Jose, Costa Rica – May 21, 2012 – I’ll Have Another’s win at the Preakness Stakes this past weekend is spelling big gains for sports bettors and big trouble for online sportsbooks. Sports marketing firm VRB Marketing has confirmed that one of its partner sites, SportsBettingOnline, stands to pay out a record sum of money should I’ll Have Another take the Belmont Stakes. The sportsbook originally listed its prop bet on I’ll Have Another winning the Triple Crown at 15/1. I’ll Have Another is just one race away from winning the coveted title.

"A lot of sports bettors stand to pocket an incredible amount of money if I’ll Have Another wins the Belmont,” stated Kevin Harper, sports analyst with VRB Marketing. “One of our partner sites released the odds two weeks ago at +15/1 and immediately the betting public jumped on the Yes bet. The oddsmakers dropped the odds to 14/1, 13/1, 12/1 and eventually settled in at 7/1 at post. Needless to say, our partner site was hoping Bodemeister would pull it off at the end but luck was not on their side.”

The Triple Crown is composed of the Kentucky Derby, the Preakness Stakes, and the Belmont Stakes. The last horse to win the Triple Crown was ‘Affirmed’, who won all three races in 1978. I’ll Have Another took the Kentucky Derby and the Preakness Stakes, edging out the favored Bodemeister in both races.

According to Harper, if I’ll Have Another completes the Triple Crown, there will be a large number of happy bettors at SportsBettingOnline. The total Yes wagers outweighed the No wagers by 10 to 1. If the horse wins the Belmont Stakes on June 9, hundreds of bettors stand to take home a small fortune.

Each year, after the Kentucky Derby winner is named, VRB Marketing’s partner site creates odds on whether or not that horse will wrap up the Triple Crown. No word yet on whether the site will reevaluate the Triple Crown prop bet for 2013 after I’ll Have Another’s impressive showing.
