VTT Technical Research Centre of Finland and JSC TENEX strengthens cooperation
On the 20th of June 2017, within the framework of the business program of the IX International Forum ATOMEXPO 2017, a Memorandum of Understanding was signed by the CEO of JSC TENEX (the company) Mrs. Lyudmila M. Zalimskaya, the CEO of A-Insinöörit Oy, the parent company of Saanio & Riekkola Oy, Mr. Jyrki Keinänen and Vice President of sales and business development of VTT Technical Research Centre of Finland Ltd Mr. Mika Toikka.
The document supports preparation of joint competitive offers for potential customers for developing of final disposal of radioactive waste. Other important areas of cooperation between the Companies in the back-end of the nuclear fuel cycle will be the issues of spent nuclear fuel (SNF) management, including the design and construction of an interim storage facilities for SNF, containers for SNF reprocessing products and their further disposal.
”VTT has extensive knowledge in nuclear safety, including research and development of final disposal of radioactive waste. With this memorandum of cooperation we can export this knowledge together with our partners”, states Erja Turunen, Executive Vice President, Smart Industry and Energy systems of VTT.
