VTT Ventures signs partnership with Research Institute of Tsinghua University in Shenzen (RITS)
VTT Ventures and the Research Institute of Tsinghua University in Shenzhen (RITS) have signed a partnership to support cross-border Venture investments between Finland and China.
RITS has setup a Sino-Euro Technology Exploitation Platform (SETEP). The platform’s main objective is to bring European technology to the Chinese markets and vice versa. RITS is seeking investment targets among selected high-growth technology companies in Europe and aims to help such companies enter the Chinese market.
“We first launched the SETEP concept in the UK and are already working with partners such as Oxford University. We are currently extending our reach in Europe and believe that VTT Technical Research Centre of Finland and VTT Ventures will make a great addition to our partnerships in the Nordic region. The fact that RITS affiliated Venture funds have already made their first investments in VTT spin-offs Asqella and TactoTec shows that we have made huge progress very quickly,” says Dr. Renchen Liu, Head of Department of International Development and Director of European Centre at Research Institute of Tsinghua University in Shenzhen (RITS).
