Stegra has completed its previously announced EUR 1.4 billion financing round, enabling the completion of construction and commissioning of the company’s large-scale green steel plant in Boden, Sweden. All conditions, including regulatory approvals, have now been fulfilled and the transaction has been completed.

Wallenberg Investments has formed a consortium with Temasek, IMAS, Bolero and the SEB Foundation, which, through the transaction, together assume a leading position as majority owners of Stegra.

As a result of the transaction, Stegra is owned through two holding companies: Stegra HoldCo (under name change), which holds more than 90 percent of the shares and votes in Stegra, and Green Nexus Investment Holding, which holds the remaining shares and votes in Stegra. Stegra HoldCo is owned by new and existing investors that have contributed new capital to Stegra as part of the financing round, including the consortium members, while Green Nexus Investment Holding is owned by existing shareholders.

Wallenberg Investments holds approximately 38.5 percent of the votes and approximately 18.8 percent of the capital in Stegra HoldCo.
